Royal ballroom

With a surface of 260 m², this spectacular ballroom looks as if it belonged in a fairytale. This ballroom is under protection, because of its architectural and decorative richness. It reminds one of the lovely rooms in fantasy films and of the mythical Montecarlo Casino, and nowadays it hosts American Roulette,  Stud Poker, Punto Banco and Black Jack tables. This is one of the most beautiful spaces in Casino Gran Vía, in which international celebrities are often seen when they visit Madrid.

The ballroom’s design is organized around four big Windows, with three doors and outstanding ceiling frescoes. The original tapestries and painted wallpaper have been kept untouched. Access to the ballroom is made through the main door linking the Royal Ballroom to the central courtyard of this gorgeous building.

The Royal Ballroom possesses an original floor made of solid wooden slabs, upon which a great butterfly-themed carpet has been placed in order to safeguard and preserve it from the passing of time. The original decoration has been maintained in walls and ceilings, consisting of Stone, plaster molds and wall fabrics. The ceiling is decorated with painted plaster.

Special attention should be paid to the upper balconies, where, in the old times, guests used to watch the dance shows.
